This math trail was designed on the playground equipment located at Virgil Public School. Virgil Public School is a community school located in Virgil, just minutes away from Niagara-On-The-Lake in Southern Ontario.

During the school months, an arrangement was set up for the use of the playground equipment. It was decided that the morning recess would be the time for the primary students to use the equipment and the afternoon recess would be the time for the intermediate students to use the equipment. With these guidelines in place, the students wanted to make sure that they would maximize their time on the playground during their recess time.
