BIOGRAPHY
Carolyn Smart was born in England in 1952, and immigrated to Canada with her parents six years later. She attended the University of Toronto, where she majored in English Literature and Far Eastern Religion. Upon graduation, Smart worked as an editor for Doubleday Canada and Macmillan's. Smith wrote the lyrics for Eleanor Daley's choral composition Requim. She has published four collections of poetry to date. She now makes her home on a Kingston farm, with her husband and three children, and teaches Creative Writing at Queen's University.
