BIOGRAPHY
Marilyn Bowering was born in 1949 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and raised in Victoria, British Columbia. In 1973, she graduated from the University of Victoria with her MA in English Literature. She has published eight books of poetry, two of which, Autobiography (1996) and The Sunday Before Winter (1984), were nominated for the Governor General's Award. She has also received the Du Maurier poetry prize. She also writes fiction and drama, and is involved in the Writers in Electronic Residence Project. She currently lives in Sooke, British Columbia, and teaches at the University of Victoria.
