What are the minimum admission requirements?

The minimum admission requirements are:

  • A four year Canadian honours undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in business, or an undergraduate or higher degree in a discipline that is closely related to the student’s field of interest in the program.
  • An overall average of 78% in the last two years of study
  • A GMAT score of at least 550. Candidates who have attained a minimum of the 70th percentile on the GRE general exam will also be considered.
  • If English is not your first language, you must submit a TOEFL (100 IBT) or IELTS (7.0) test score.
  • Work experience is not required but is an asset to an application.
  • A personal interview may be required. Applicants will be contacted directly if this is required. It is not possible to request a personal interview.

Is the GMAT/GRE required? If I have a Brock degree/10 years of experience/a PhD do I have to write the GMAT?

The GMAT or the GRE are required for all applicants and cannot be waived for the M.Sc program. There are no exceptions to this rule.

What if my GMAT score is below 550?
The committee is looking for applicants with a 550 and above. Applicants that do not meet this minimum may be asked to rewrite the GMAT.

What if my average is below 78%?

As the M.Sc. is a thesis-based degree program. The admissions committee is therefore looking for applicants with an extremely strong academic background. Applicants who do not meet this minimum requirement may still apply if they feel they have other qualifications that compensate for a lower average.
