Application Process

We’re here to help. Contact one of our staff members regarding the application process and we’ll guide you through all of your available options.

Summary of Application Documents

Due to the high volume of applications that we receive, we are not able to automatically confirm the receipt of each individual application. We would be happy to check on the status of your application upon request and we will contact you be email in the event that we require more information, would like to speak with you or make a decision on your application. Thank you for your patience.

All applications must include:

  • Online OUAC Application
  • Non Refundable Application Fee ($125 Canadian)
    • The application fee can be paid by credit card or by certified cheque. All application fees are received by OUAC, not by Brock University.
  • Original transcripts from all post-secondary institutions
    • Transcripts must be submitted in signed and sealed envelopes.
    • Any documents that are not in English or French must be translated into English and notarized before they are accepted.
  • Three letters of reference
    • Reference letters can be academic and/or professional.
    • Reference letters can only be submitted using the electronic reference system through the online application.
    • Once you have submitted your application (which includes providing the names and email addresses of your referees) and submitted payment, your referees will be emailed with instructions to complete the electronic reference report.
  • Statement of interest
    • Your statement of interest should be one page, single or double spaced.
  • Résumé
  • Official TOEFL, IELTS or ITELP  score (if applicable) 
    • Do you need this? Please contact the Graduate Programs Office for an assessment.
    • The Faculty of Business may request an English Language score from any applicant whose first language is not English OR who has not been educated in English at the undergraduate level.
  • A personal interview may be required.

Official test scores must be sent directly from the testing agency to the Faculty of Business Graduate Programs Office.

All other documents should be sent to the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

There is no need to include a copy of your online application form when you apply.  

Once submitted, all documents are the property of Brock University and will not be returned. Applications that are inactive for one year will be destroyed.

Application Deadlines

You can begin the MAcc program in September 2012.

The committee will review applications for the MAcc program throughout the year. Applications will be accepted until the program is full.

Canadian citizens and permanent residents with an undergraduate degree in Canadian Accounting:
September Deadline: Rolling Admissions (recommend applying by May 1st, 2012)
 
International students already studying Accounting in Canada:
September Deadline: Rolling Admissions (recommend applying by May 1st, 2012)
 
Canadian citizens, Permanent Residents and International students missing prerequisite courses:
We are no longer accepting applications from applicants who require pre-requisite courses and who have not conducted a pre-admission assessment. 
Macc September start with possibility of taking prerequisite courses: February 1, 2012 (It is highly recommended that you conduct a pre-admission assessment prior to applying in case you have to arrive in begin pre-requisite courses in January or April.)
