Fundraising continues at Brock to raise money for earthquake relief in Japan.
The following are upcoming events:
- On Wednesday, March 30 from 12:15 to 12:45, there will be a kendo (Japanese swordsmanship) demonstration in the Bob Davis Gymnasium. Come out, bring your lunch and make a donation while you enjoy the demonstration. (poster)
- Enlightenment Guaranteed, a German/Japanese movie, will be shown at 7 p.m. on March 31 in the International Student Lounge of the International Centre. The film is a comedy about two German brothers discovering Japanese people and society.
- Brian Power, an associate professor of Music, will present two choirs in the Guernsey Market . The Brock Women’s Choir will perform on Wednesday, April 6 from 2 to 2:30 p.m. The Brock Men’s Choir will perform on Thursday, April 7 from 2 to 2:30 p.m.
The island nation was struck by a devastating earthquake and tsunami on March 11. More than 11,000 are confirmed dead.
Donations will be accepted at the International Services and Programs Abroad office at GLN-B 210 in the International Centre. You can also call 905-688-5550 x3163 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Cheques are preferred and can be earmarked “Japan Earthquake/Asia-Pacific Tsunami” and sent through inter-office mail.
