Five police forces gathered in the Sean O’Sullivan Theatre lobby last week to talk to Brock students about careers in policing.

Recruiters from forces such as the Niagara Regional Police and the Waterloo Regional Police Service had displays at the Police Recruiting Showcase, held Jan. 27.

“It’s going really great,” said Sgt. Steve Haernel with the Ontario Provincial Police. “We’ve had lots of interest. The OPP is hiring and will continue to hire. We’re anticipating a lot of retirements in the next year.”

“We’re always excited to present our services to the students at Brock,” said Sgt. Dean Smith with the Waterloo Regional Police.

The recruitment fair was held in collaboration with the Career Services and the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Social Sciences.
