Brock staffers seek back-to-school donations for local kids

Brock employees are heeding a call for help.

Thousands of local children will soon head back to a new school year, but not all will have the basic supplies that most families take for granted.

Community Care for St. Catharines and Thorold is looking to help the more than 1,000 families who require such items as backpacks (for younger children) as well as shoes, markers, erasers and calculators.

To help out, staff in the University’s Human Resources department are asking other Brock staff and faculty to join them in donating money or back to school items. Every dime will go toward buying supplies to support this program.

Brock employees Leigh Harold and Kelly Bradbury will be accepting contributions all week, and will make a donation to Community Care this Friday Aug. 21, so supplies can be acquired in time for distribution on Aug. 26.

Donations here at Brock can be dropped off at HR reception on the 12th floor of the Schmon Tower. Or people can contact Leigh Harold at lharold@brocku.ca or Kelly Bradbury at kbradbury@brocku.ca
