Larviciding to begin on campus July 6

From July 6 to Sept. 14, 2015, Brock University will conduct a larviciding program under the authority of the Region’s Medical Officer of Health.

The larviciding will happen to control larval mosquitoes to prevent their development into vectors of West Nile virus.

The larvicide (Mosquiron 0.12CRD – ingot formulation, PCP No. 31079), under the federal Pest Control Products Act, will be applied by direct hand application into catch basins at Brock University-owned and leased properties within Niagara.

All larvicides will be applied by Ministry of the Environment-licensed applicators.

For details on the exact locations and dates of treatments, please contact Brock University at 905-688-5550, x3717. Collect calls will be accepted. Email facilities.management@brocku.ca
