Brock University has launched a new website to help in the search for a President and Vice-Chancellor to succeed Jack Lightstone, whose second and final five-year term will expire in June 2016.

The presidential search is overseen by a 12-member search committee that was assembled last November. A search consultant, Caldwell Partners, has also been retained.

The procedures for a presidential search at Brock are set out in the Faculty Handbook, and are expected to take place over a number of months, starting with a series of broad-based consultations with parties across the University that will inform the development of a candidate profile.

Joe Robertson, immediate past chair of the Brock Board of Trustees who is also chair of the Advisory Committee on the Presidency, said the website is a vital tool for the task at hand.

“Hiring a president is one of the most important things we do,” said Robertson. “It was important for us to have a website that captures all of the critical information in one place, so people can use it as an authoritative reference point for the whole process.”
