The Brock community is saddened to learn of the death of Gordon Dunkley, on Feb. 2, 2015.

Gord joined Brock and the Department of Computer Science in 2001 as Student Support Coordinator, providing academic and career advising, student outreach and community liaison. He was a popular fixture in the department, always eager to help colleagues.

“His winning smile, ready anecdotes and true interest in people made him popular with students and staff alike,” said David Hughes, Interim Chair of the Computer Science department. “He kept his finger on the pulse of the department. He was a valued colleague and good friend. We will sorely miss him.”

Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of Gord’s life on Saturday Feb. 21 from noon to 3 p.m. at Club Capri 36 Cleveland St., Thorold.  The Dunkley family asks that any memorial donations go to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society. The Department of Computer Science is working on ideas for a lasting tribute to Gord.
