The Goodman School of Business at Brock has reaffirmed its place among world’s best business programs.

The business school has been re-accredited by AACSB International.

The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) is the world’s longest serving and most prestigious global accrediting body for business schools. Fewer than five per cent of the world’s business programs are accredited by AACSB.

A lot happens behind the scenes at a business school to maintain this international accreditation. In addition to meeting global accreditation standards, the school also hosted a Peer Review Team that completed a full assessment of the school’s academic curriculum, co-op programs, experiential learning opportunities, staff support and research activities.

Don Cyr, dean of the Goodman School of Business, credits Goodman’s commitment to continuous improvement through its Assurance of Learning Program as key to the school’s success.

“Our Assurance of Learning Program provides us with a platform for us to build on our strengths and focus on improvements that positively impact student learning opportunities,” says Cyr. “By frequently evaluating the success of our students, we’re able to evaluate and improve our curriculum.”

The school was first accredited in 2002 and was the third business school in Ontario to be accredited at that time. Goodman is currently one of only seven AACSB accredited schools in Ontario, an elite group that the Goodman School is proud to be part of.

“Our vision is to provide undergraduate, graduate and professional education that transforms our students into innovative, articulate and ethical citizens for the global business environment,” Cyr says. “It’s rewarding for our faculty, staff, students and alumni that our success and accomplishments are recognized internationally.”

Goodman’s AACSB accreditation covers all of its degree and certificate programs, including the Minor in Business, Bachelor of Accounting (BAcc), the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), the Master of Accountancy (MAcc), Master of Science in Management, and the Master of Business Administration (MBA).

The Goodman School of Business is home to more than 2,600 undergraduate students, 450 graduate students and has 7,000 alumni worldwide.
