Faculty of Education Distinguished Speaker Series returns

The Faculty of Education at Brock is pleased to announce that Canadian poet and playwright George Elliott Clarke and Jamaican poet and scholar Pamela Mordecai will be headlining the latest installment of the Faculty’s Distinguished Speaker Series.

Their discussion, “Audible Motion: New School Black Verse,” was originally scheduled for earlier this spring, but was rescheduled due to inclement weather.

Set to take place at Alphie’s Bistro on Thursday, Sept. 26, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., their presentation will cover class time, playtime and contemplation, and will engage the illicit and subversive aspects of their respective new verse collections.

The following day, Friday, Sept. 27, the Faculty of Education will hold a “Continuing the Conversation” session with the two poets from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Welch Hall room 171.

Those interested in attending, please RSVP to Trevor Norris, assistant professor, Graduate and Undergraduate Studies, at tnorris@brocku.ca
