BUSU offers bus pass subsidy for spring term students

The Brock University Students’ Union (BUSU) has made cash available to help subsidize St. Catharines transit passes for students taking classes during the spring term.

The subsidy will be $50 per transit pass for eligible students.

“This subsidy is important to ensure that the summer pass is more affordable for students who live in the city during the summer months, allowing them easier access to campus,” said Chris Yendt, BUSU’s vice-president of finance and administration. “This service is the only mode of transportation for many students at Brock.”

The subsidy will be available starting Monday, May 13 until Monday, May 27, 2013. BUSU subsidize passes for the first 1,100 students that come to the BUSU office during this time with a valid Brock University ID, and proof of purchase from St. Catharines Transit.

Funding for this program is covered by a surplus of money in BUSU’s existing universal bus pass account.

Visit BUSU online for more information or contact Yendt at vpfa@busu.net.
