UPDATE: Classes not affected by water main break at Brock (Thursday, Nov. 8)

Nov. 8, 2012 (9:07 a.m.)

Classes at Brock University have not been affected by a water main break at the St. Catharines campus.

The break at the intersection of Isaac Brock Road and University Road has been isolated and is under control. Repairs are scheduled to begin this morning.

As a result of the break, University Road at the south end of the grass field in front of Schmon Tower loop is blocked off. The intersection of University Road at Meter Road in front of Plaza Building is also closed.

There is still vehicle access to the drop off area in front of Schmon Tower. Inbound cars and busses from St. Davids Road are able to access the front of the Tower for pick-ups and drop-offs.

To access the west end of the University along University Road West (Walker Complex, Welch Hall, Kenmore Centre, etc.) vehicles must drive towards the Tower and circle the loop.

NOTICE: Water main break at St. Catharines campus (Thursday, Nov. 8 )

Nov. 8, 2012 (7 a.m.)

There has been a water main break near the intersection of Isaac Brock Road and University Road (south of the Schmon Tower) at Brock University’s St. Catharines campus.

The situation is currently under control, however barricades are being set up to keep pedestrian traffic off the sidewalk and to establish a work site. The roads in that area will also be shut down.

This road closure will impact all vehicular traffic on campus. This includes public transit, which will make alternate drop-off and pick-up arrangements for riders today.

Please check the Brock homepage (brocku.ca) under “News” for more info as it becomes available.
