Llewellyn, Silas James, iron and steel mfr.; b. Briton Ferry, Wales, Oct. 25, 1860; s. Henry and Elizabeth (Gower) L.; brought to U.S., 1864; ed. pub. schs., Milwaukee, Wis.; m. Mary E. Parkes, June 19, 1884. Entered employ of North Chicago Rolling Mill Co., Milwaukee, 1879, and continued with its successor, Ill. Steel Co., 1897, which merged, 1899, into Republic Iron & Steel Co., of which was sec and mem, exec. com.; in 1900, elected v.p. Plano Mfg. Co., which was merged into the Internat. Harvester Co., pres. Interstate Iron & Steel Co. from organization, 1905; also pres. Chicago Malleable Castings, Co. Mason. Home: Evanston, Ill. Died Sept. 1925.
